Resources FAQs
Straight answers to the questions people ask most about tradelines and how the marketplace works.
What is a tradeline?
A tradeline is any account that shows up on a credit report — a credit card, loan, or line of credit. On our marketplace it usually means being added as an authorized user on someone's well-aged, low-utilization credit card, so that account's history can appear on your report.
What does "authorized user" actually mean?
An authorized user is added to an existing credit card account. The account's history can report to your credit file, but you do not get the physical card, the login, or any way to spend on it. You ride along with the account's track record — nothing more.
How long does it take for a tradeline to appear on a credit report?
Timing depends on the account's reporting cycle and the bureaus involved. We share the expected window on each listing — often as little as two weeks — but the exact date is controlled by the lender and the bureaus, not by us.
Will a tradeline work for me specifically?
We can't promise an outcome — nobody honestly can, because every credit file is different. What we can do is explain how authorized-user history is reported and let you decide whether it fits your situation. Results vary.
How do you vet Tradeline Partners?
Every Tradeline Partner is reviewed before they can list. We check the account details they provide and hold them to the terms shown on each listing. Listings that don't hold up don't stay on the marketplace.
Is buying a tradeline legal?
Adding an authorized user is a long-standing, legal feature offered by card issuers. We are a marketplace and education resource that connects Members and Tradeline Partners transparently — we are not a credit-repair service.
What determines a tradeline's price?
Mostly the account's age and its credit limit. Older accounts with low utilization are scarcer, so they tend to cost more. Every listing shows its price and terms up front, with no surprise add-ons.
Can a tradeline be removed after my order is complete?
Authorized-user arrangements are time-bound. Each listing explains how long you stay on the account and what happens when that window ends, so you know what to expect before you order.
How long do I stay on the account?
It varies by listing — typically one or two reporting cycles. The exact duration is stated on the listing before you check out.
Is my payment safe?
Yes. Checkout runs securely through the marketplace, and you're protected by the listing's terms if a tradeline doesn't post as described.
Do you work with people who have no credit history?
Yes. Our guides explain tradelines and credit reporting from the ground up, whether you're credit-invisible or already have a thick file.
What information do I need to provide?
Enough for the Tradeline Partner to add you as an authorized user — typically your legal name, date of birth, and the details the issuer requires. We spell out exactly what each step needs before you commit.
Can I choose which card I'm added to?
Yes. You browse the listings and pick the specific account that fits your goals. Nothing is assigned to you — the choice is always yours.
Does this give me access to someone else's account?
No. As an authorized user you never receive the card, the account login, or any way to make charges. Only the account's history is shared with the bureaus.
What happens after I place an order?
The Tradeline Partner adds you as an authorized user, the account reports on its normal cycle, and you can follow each step until it's complete. Support is available the whole way through.
Do you change my credit score for me?
No. We don't contact the bureaus on your behalf or make claims about moving a number. We run a transparent marketplace and publish education, so the decision — and the outcome — stays yours.
